Nursing Programme
The Nursing program of the University of La Guajira is approved under the academic agreement 006 of 2021 issued by the superior council for the application to obtain Qualified Registration. The purpose of the nursing profession is to promote health, prevent disease, intervene in the treatment, rehabilitation and recovery of health, alleviate pain, provide welfare measures and contribute to a dignified life of the person.

Applicant Profile
The applicant to the Nursing program must have knowledge in basic and human sciences, skills in teamwork, communication and critical analysis. They are expected to possess ethical-humanistic values such as service vocation, social commitment, respect and sensitivity towards life and dignity, as well as an interest in social and cultural problems.

Graduate profile
The graduate of the Nursing program of the University of La Guajira has pedagogical, assistance, administrative and research competencies, oriented to improve the health of the individual, family and community through participatory strategies that manage the collective health risk. In addition, they will carry out health promotion and maintenance actions with nursing interventions defined for healing and rehabilitation, using the Nursing Care Process (PAE). The professionals will implement research strategies to address problems that affect the quality of life of the population, which will contribute to the development of the profession.
