
In this course, which is part of the project to evaluate the environmental quality of microplastics in the Flamingos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary in La Guajira, Colombia, funded by the Minciencias call for proposals 890 - 2020, participants will learn about the generalities of microplastics, sampling techniques, extraction and analysis of results in matrices such as water, sediment, fish and bivalves.
The objectives include training personnel in the analysis of results, generating knowledge about the problem of microplastics in the environment, identifying sampling and extraction techniques, and developing skills in data analysis with tools such as R studio.
The minimum required attendance is 80% of the classes, with evaluation based on participation, a review paper and a practical component. At the end of the course, participants will have the necessary skills to address the issue of microplastics in a comprehensive and responsible manner.
