How to register?
Research projects must be registered in the Research Management Information System (SIGINV), filling in all the required information and attaching the respective annexes requested. To do so, the following procedure must be followed:
• Visit the website of the University of La Guajira (uniguajira.edu.co).
• Access the menu located at the top of the web page - RESEARCH, where SIGINV is displayed. There you will find available the login space, where you must enter your access credentials.
• to the menu Procedures - Research Projects - Create, and choose the type of project to create. On this occasion, internal call for research project funding.
• Complete the information requested by the online form for the submission of projects to the call for proposals.
• Attach in PDF format all the required documents mentioned in section 5. REQUIREMENTS, in the space available for each document. It is important to note that the size of each attached file has a maximum capacity of 5MB. If you need to make changes in the attachments, please note that the system will only consider the last document uploaded in each space.
• Once you have provided the requested information, the option to “submit the registration” will be immediately enabled at the bottom. Choose the option and a confirmation message will appear indicating the following: before submitting, please verify your registered and attached information; once you confirm this action, the project will be submitted.
• To follow up on the proposal, you must enter the platform with your credentials and, through the Procedures menu - Research Projects - View Follow-up, you will be able to consult the observations made to the project, in order to correct them within the established time.
Requirements:
- Register the complete proposal in the Research Management Information System (SIGINV) before the deadline established for this purpose, associating a thematic area as defined in numeral 4.
- Projects must be original and unpublished. They must demonstrate their relevance and impact in the local, regional or national context and their relation to the line of research.
- The project must have only one principal investigator and up to a maximum of two co-investigators, who must not be participating in more than two research projects submitted to this call.
- A faculty member may only have the role of principal investigator in one research project submitted to this call.
- The professors, with the role of principal investigator in the project, will be permanent or occasional professors and may not have internal or institutional research projects with funding underway.
- When submitting the proposal, faculty members with principal investigator and co-investigator roles must be up to date with all their obligations with respect to previous projects that received internal or external funding.
- All members of the work team must be active members of an endorsed institutional research group, have their CvLAC updated with their products uploaded to the respective research group.
- The work team must have the participation of at least one undergraduate or graduate student from the University of La Guajira.
- The hours of teaching dedication, for the project activities, must not exceed the hours suggested in the faculty statute. The principal investigator is entitled to a maximum of ten hours per week (10 hours/week), while the co-investigator may not have more than eight hours per week according to his/her responsibility in the project.
- Attach a PDF of the project completed in the research proposal form (GI-F-14), which must include a detailed budget, justifying each item to be requested and these must be related to the objectives and goals of the project.
- Attach a letter of endorsement and institutional commitment from the allied entities (Annex A), if applicable, signed by the legal representative or the person responsible for the resources committed to the project (in kind and/or in cash). This letter must state the knowledge and intention to participate in the call for proposals.
- Attach an endorsement from the Research Ethics Committee where it is clearly specified that the project has been reviewed and endorsed by it, in case it is required due to the type of research to be carried out.
