The Coordination of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Development, in full compliance with Law 1014 of 2006, known as "Promotion of Entrepreneurship Culture", is strategically integrated in the Colombian context. This coordination is a fundamental part of the Vice Rector's Office for Research and Extension, playing an essential role in the realization of the institutional mission "Towards the consolidation of quality".
Our work focuses on promoting and strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit in Colombia. Following the guidelines of Law 1014, we work tirelessly to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in society. This mission is integrally aligned with the objectives of the university and contributes to consolidate the quality of education and the projection of the institution in society.

Our Mission
The Coordination of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Development of Uniguajira, supports and strengthens the promotion of entrepreneurship, training of entrepreneurs, creation of economic units and assists the productive sector with the latest trends and knowledge in advisory services, consulting, audits, designs, technical assistance and professional services, articulated with the academic programs of technical, technological and professional university training, taught by the different faculties, school and other academic units; establishes alliances with institutions dedicated to the development of local, regional and national entrepreneurship, supported by the use and appropriation of information and communication technologies (ICT).
Our Vision
The Coordination of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Development of Uniguajira, expects to see itself in 2030 as a strategic ally, with research, technical, academic and business laboratory support, with recognition at departmental, national and international level, in terms of strengthening and qualification of development programs, promoting entrepreneurship, training entrepreneurs and creating economic units with insertion in business and scientific networks; supported by the use and appropriation of information and communication technologies, to make the processes more competitive in the face of the demands of globalization.

Object of the coordination of entrepreneurship
- Contribute to the strengthening of public organizations and according to the context required in the business and industrial environment, public and private, through the development of advisory, consulting, training, oversight, auditing and other services; committed to the mission processes of the University of La Guajira and the generation of sustainable economic development, providing the community in general and especially the business sector comprehensive services to promote their development and their environment.
- In this way, it provides society in general, especially consolidated entrepreneurs and people interested in business creation, with specialized attention towards sustainable economic development.
- The Business Development Center is equipped with units specialized in the efficient management of public and private enterprises, which is why it has the Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Development to work on the line of independence and economic stability, which works permanently and integrally in the coverage and alternatives for overcoming business needs regarding the creation of companies, their administration, marketing and business plans, among others; these have highly qualified personnel who are constantly updated to intervene in a responsible and timely manner in business development.
Purpose of the entrepreneurship unit
To support the training process in basic, citizenship, labor, innovative and entrepreneurial skills, taught by its faculties, schools and other academic units of the University of La Guajira. As well as effective leadership, strategic direction, knowledge management, training and research skills that serve as input to entrepreneurship, aimed at preserving the culture and the promotion of entrepreneurship, working hand in hand with teachers and consultants from different academic areas to ensure support to the productive sector and public and private institutions at regional, national and international level, with the latest trends and knowledge in advisory, consulting, auditing, design, technical assistance and professional services.
Portfolio of services
- Promotion of the culture of entrepreneurship: This is developed through socialization, awareness, lectures, workshops, seminars, courses, symposiums, forums, discussions, contests, exhibitions, fairs, conferences, among others, with the purpose of motivating the entrepreneurial spirit.
- Advice and formulation of business plans or projects: In order to guide entrepreneurs through a route on entrepreneurial culture, design and development of business plans or viable and sustainable projects.
- Technical assistance: Oriented to companies in the productive sector of the department of La Guajira in order to strengthen their productive units and help the economic development of the department.
