General requirements for the mobility process

  • Estar cursando, al momento de la postulación, entre III y VIII semestre.
  • Tener un promedio acumulado igual o superior a 4.0, al momento de realizar la solicitud. En el caso de la Facultad de Ciencias Básicas, Ciencias de la Salud e Ingeniería, se solicitará un promedio igual o superior a 3.8.
  • No haber tenido procesos disciplinarios en la Universidad de La Guajira.
  • Estar al día con las asignaturas del semestre en curso.
  • Tener pasaporte vigente (para intercambios internacionales)
What documents are required to participate in the student mobility program?

To apply to the Student Mobility program, you will need to submit the following documents:

  • Hoja de vida en la que se detalle la experiencia y los conocimientos adquiridos.
  • Ensayo de motivación.
  • Propuesta o proyecto a desarrollar después del intercambio académico con un plan de trabajo y fechas establecidas para darle cumplimiento (debe tener resultados tangibles y de impacto en la academia, investigación, proyección social o internacionalización).
  • Fotocopia de la cédula de ciudadanía.
  • Hoja biográfica del pasaporte.
  • Certificado de EPS
  • Formulario RI-F-31 debidamente diligenciado.

What is the step-by-step process to apply for the student exchange program?
  • Verification of subjects: Before starting the process, verify the courses you are eligible to take in the exchange semester.
  • Exploration of the study plan: Review the curriculum of the foreign university of your interest to identify possible courses to take. Communicate your interest to the International Relations Office (ORI) of the University of La Guajira.
  • Enrollment in Uniguajira: Enroll in Uniguajira for the semester in which you plan to do the exchange.
  • Acceptance and commitment: Once you are accepted into the exchange program, commit to register and evaluate your mobility experience on the platform

What are the costs and recommendations to consider if I want to apply for a student exchange?

    • Transcript of grades: You must take into account the cost associated with obtaining your transcript required for the exchange application.
    • Transportation tickets: The cost of air and/or land tickets to travel to the exchange destination should also be considered.
    • Lodging and meals: Plan for expenses related to lodging and food during your stay in the exchange country.
  • Recommendations:
    • Obtaining the transcript: At the end of your exchange, request the corresponding transcript. This document is essential for the process of homologation of courses in Uniguajira and ensures the academic recognition of your achievements during the exchange.
