How does the Extension Department contribute to the cultural and artistic, tangible and intangible heritage of the department of La Guajira?
The Extension Department contributes to the cultural heritage and the management, protection and safeguarding of the tangible and intangible cultural and artistic heritage of the Department of La Guajira, promoting the execution of the Modalities of Extension and Social Projection referred to in the Extension Statute Chapter II on the objectives of the extension; where it is expressed textually in Appendix d) Promote the dissemination, recovery and sense of cultural identity, through the organization of activities and relevant events. Additionally, the same Statute expresses in Chapter III, appendix i) Relations of the University with the Community, where it states: "the different academic and administrative university units will promote programs and projects aimed at strengthening relations with the community, ensuring respect for the knowledge of groups, the recognition of socio-cultural diversity and contributing their achievements in the scientific-technical, social and cultural field, for community development".
Extension modalities
The University will develop extension projects and activities in accordance with the variables established by the National Information System for Higher Education (SNIES), related to the following modalities:
- Continuing education (diploma, course, workshop, seminar, symposium, congress, meeting, colloquium).
- Events (academic event, cultural activity, cultural event).
- Extension Projects.
- Extension Services.
Educación continua
- Diplomado: It is a curricular program that structures teaching-learning units on a certain subject and that has sufficient length and formality to guarantee the acquisition and development of valid theoretical and/or practical knowledge. Minimum duration of 90 hours.
- Curso: It is a short-term educational process, applied in a systematic and organized manner, through which people acquire knowledge, develop skills and competencies based on defined objectives. In order for its attendees to be certified by the Extension Department, they must have a minimum duration of 16 hours.
- Taller: Es un espacio social, organizado para facilitar un marco de actuaciones sobre un eje temático determinado, que permite al participante el vínculo entre su actividad directa y la construcción social de los conocimientos; su duración es variable, expuesta por uno o varios especialistas que implica un “hacer” de parte de los asistentes.
- Seminar: Reunión periódica de expertos, académicos y comunidad interesada en una temática específica donde se presentan adelantos científicos y se forman recursos humanos de alta especialización.
- Symposium: Reunión de especialistas para abordar su campo de estudio en la que desarrollan un tema específico a través de intervenciones breves y preguntas y respuestas que pueden llevarse a cabo al final de las exposiciones.
- Congress: Es un evento de expertos que aborda diversos temas de un área específica, que promueve la difusión de conocimiento, la colaboración interdisciplinaria y el enriquecimiento de la comunidad académica y la sociedad en general al brindar un espacio para la discusión y el aprendizaje en torno a temas de relevancia.
- Meeting: Reunión de expertos en alguna materia con el fin de intercambiar opiniones y experiencias.
- Colloquium: Es una conversación entre dos o más personas precedida generalmente de una exposición formal sobre el tema a ser discutido.
Events
Academic event
Academic events are the set of activities of a professional, artistic or technical nature that involve some type of teaching or learning. This type of events are carried out with the purpose of enriching the integral formation of the different university strata and the community in general.
- Forum: A forum is a space for discussion or debate in which people come together to exchange ideas, opinions and knowledge on a specific topic. It can be face-to-face or online and is commonly used to promote dialogue and reflection on cultural, social or academic issues.
- Conference: A lecture is an oral presentation in which a subject matter expert or specialist shares information, knowledge or research with an audience. Lectures usually have an educational focus and can be part of academic, cultural or professional events.
- Conversation: Conversation: A conversation is a form of discussion in which a group of people meet to discuss a specific topic. Unlike a conference, in a discussion, participants usually interact and share their points of view in a more informal way.
- Exchange of experiences: This activity involves people with different experiences, backgrounds or perspectives sharing their experiences and knowledge on a common topic. It can take place in a variety of formats, such as round tables, panels or workshops, and aims to foster mutual learning.
- Socialization: is an active and continuous process that seeks to strengthen the relationship between higher education institutions and the community, promoting joint learning, collaboration and active participation to achieve a positive impact on both parties.
Cultural activity
Se refiere a cualquier evento o actividad que tenga un componente cultural significativo, como exposiciones de arte, festivales, representaciones teatrales, conferencias, conciertos, entre otros.
- Communication and dissemination programs (radio, press or television, virtual): is a set of periodic broadcasts transmitted on television or radio, grouped under a common title or heading, which, as a block, includes most of the audiovisual content offered on a channel.
- Fairs: Trade fairs are events where products, services or knowledge in a variety of sectors, such as agriculture, technology, culture, among others, are exhibited and marketed.
- Contests: A contest is a competition in which participants demonstrate their skills or knowledge in a specific area, such as music, art, literature, sports, among others.
- Cultural guide program: A cultural guide program is a tool or document that provides information about cultural events, activities and places of interest in a given geographic area. It usually includes schedules, details and descriptions to help visitors explore the local culture. They can be: Guided tours, sample of academic offerings to educational or social groups, visits to laboratories and other infrastructure of the University.
- University Museum: University collection or gallery (including herbariums and botanical gardens), whose ownership belongs to a university. In other words, it is a type of museum whose nature is defined from a legal point of view, and not by the content of its collections, which may be of a historical, scientific, artistic or any other nature.
- Cultural Week: A cultural week is an event that takes place during one week in an educational institution, community or city and includes a variety of cultural activities, such as exhibitions, conferences, concerts, theatrical performances and more, with the purpose of promoting culture and art.
- Commemorative dates: are specific dates in the calendar that are used to highlight and commemorate important events, causes or issues, and can be used to carry out activities or campaigns related to those events or issues.
- Thematic Events: are events that focus on a specific topic or area, with the objective of promoting education, culture, social awareness or the exchange of knowledge in a community or group of people.
Cultural event
This term encompasses any event designed to promote and celebrate cultural, artistic or intellectual aspects of a community or society. These events are intended to propagate and disseminate cultural themes.
- Concerts: A concert is a musical event in which one or more artists or groups perform live music in front of an audience. It can cover a wide range of musical genres and is a popular form of cultural entertainment.
- Theatrical plays: Plays are dramatic performances on a live stage. They include performances by actors playing characters in a dramatic, comic or theatrical story.
- Exhibitions: An exhibition is a display of art, objects or information that is presented to the public in a specific place, such as a museum, art gallery or cultural center. It may include works of art, historical artifacts, photographs, among others.
- Galleries: are events or spaces for the exhibition and dissemination of art, culture, creativity, research and projects. These outreach and social projection events may include art exhibitions, research project galleries, cultural fairs, among others.
Proyectos
Proyecto: A project is a planned and coordinated effort that has a specific and defined objective and a set of interrelated activities that must be carried out to achieve that objective. Projects can vary in size and complexity and may include tasks such as planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation.
Informe: A report is a written document that presents detailed and organized information on a specific topic. It is generally used to communicate results of research, analysis, observations or events. Reports can be formal or informal and are used in various fields, such as academia, business, science and government, to provide relevant information to stakeholders.
Social impact: El impacto social se refiere al efecto que una acción, proyecto o programa tiene en la sociedad en términos de mejoras en la calidad de vida, el bienestar de las personas o la resolución de problemas sociales. El impacto social puede medirse en términos de cambios positivos en áreas como la educación, la salud, la equidad social y el medio ambiente.
Achievement: Un logro es un resultado específico que se alcanza después de completar con éxito una tarea, proyecto o actividad. Los logros suelen estar relacionados con el cumplimiento de metas o la obtención de resultados deseados.
Resultado: An outcome is an effect or consequence that occurs as a result of a specific action or activity. Outcomes can be intended or unintended and can be positive or negative.
