The Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Guajira trains integral and competent professionals in the field of engineering at national and international level. This is achieved through the continuous improvement of teaching, research, extension and social projection processes. The ultimate goal is to promote scientific knowledge, technological development and innovation with a sense of ethics, social responsibility and respect for the environment.
The training provided by the faculty will allow graduates of each program to evaluate real problems in their environment, propose and develop innovative solutions, supported by the generation or application of knowledge. In addition, Uniguajira engineers are expected to be committed to the social and sustainable development of the region and the country.

Mission
The School of Engineering trains undergraduate and graduate professionals in basic fields of engineering, allowing the strengthening of innovation and technological development, the generation of knowledge in the different areas of these fields, so that they contribute to the solution of community problems. It recognizes itself as part of a multicultural region for which it designs and develops learning strategies oriented towards competitiveness, efficiency and effectiveness, with which it seeks to project itself in a globalized world. Research and social projection are a fundamental part of the integrative training of its graduates, empowering the human being, through ethics and sensitivity to the problems of the environment.
Vision
The Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Guajira will be a leading academic unit in the Colombian Caribbean coast in the teaching of basic engineering fields, with local, national and international recognition of its academic programs, through high quality accreditation. The training of its graduates in undergraduate and graduate programs will be marked by leadership, scientific, technological and technical knowledge for the solution of environmental problems, which will generate social and economic development through innovation.
