Our Mission
The mission of the Association of Social Work Students (ASODETS) is to complement the information of the students of Social Work, promoting a critical and investigative attitude towards the social activity of the environment, formulating participatory diagnoses that lead to the implementation of established social policies.
Our Vision
The Association of Social Work Students (ASODETS), is projected as a leading organization of its kind within the university campus where it was born, extending its radius of action to local, regional, national and international levels, providing society with professionals of integrity, innovative and committed to social development.

It is any responsible natural person who freely, without labor remuneration, offers time, work and talent for the construction of the common good, individually or collectively, in public or private national and international organizations or outside of them.
Objeto social
- Promote and support the formation and organization of the group of Social Work students of the University of La Guajira.
- Promote in its members, through the development of activities, the growth and integral formation that allows them to know, interpret and transform the national and international reality.
- To train leaders who contribute to the social and economic development of the region, the country and the world.
- To achieve a fraternal interpretation among its members in order to obtain a leadership framed in a democratic spirit, and respect for autonomy, thus forming members with responsibility, ethics, social sensitivity and sense of belonging.
- Promote the active participation of students in their environment, so that they can put their knowledge into practice.
- To strive for the continuous improvement of the good name of the Association and that of each of its members.
- To promote the rapprochement between the University, Society, Business and the State.
- Promote the integral development of Social Work students in the municipality, the region and the country, through actions and activities of social research, training, organization and management.
- To promote the development of the region through professional intervention, research and management, focused on the individual, the family, groups and the community.
- Promote and support the formation of Social Work student groups in the different extensions of the University of La Guajira where this program exists.
- To work to improve the professional, cultural and academic conditions of the associates, and the integral well-being of the Guajira community.
- Promote social work as a dynamizer of social processes for the development of the region, through productive and environmental projects.
- To seek a better standard of living for each of the active members, working for social, professional and scientific development, through the organization and participation in academic, cultural, scientific, social and social research events.
- Establish and maintain contact with public, private, local, regional, national, and foreign entities, in the search for common purposes, and that contribute to the promotion of the students of Social Work at the University of La Guajira.
- To promote and encourage the updating of knowledge of Social Work students in order to improve their personal and professional development.
- To develop agreements, contracts and activities with governmental and non-governmental organizations in pursuit of actions that contribute to the guild's social purpose.
- It projects and promotes the appropriation of knowledge in the area of Social Work, in order to elaborate, apply and/or execute social projects in different sectors of the department, the country and abroad, through analysis, reflection and research.
- Cooperate with the academic activities of the University of La Guajira, to update and improve the study plans and programs, implementing social research.
- Organize a bank of social projects to channel and manage opportunities for implementation, contracting and/or agreements with governmental and non-governmental, private or not, national and international entities.
- Develop plans and programs for the benefit of students and the community, in the economic and cultural aspect of the region, through educational, service provision, in all sectors, and other activities that go with the objectives of these statutes and the law.
- To watch over and promote human rights in order to strengthen the integral development of children, youth and family stability, contributing to the formation and permanence of the family nucleus.
- To encourage students of Social Work at the University of La Guajira to participate in the academic and productive development of the University, developing proposals and opportunities for research, essays, studies, advising, consulting at local, regional, national and international levels, exchanging experiences and cultural and scientific knowledge.
